A unique choral experience with choreography! Students acquire necessary skills to become proficient in note reading, sight reading, singing technique and performance skills. Incorporated workshops prepare students for auditions, with a grand finale of stages music theatre scenes! It’s educational, fun, offers community performance opportunities and increased confidence with on stage experiences.
Required Materials: Sight reading literature, choir music package with CD and T-shirt. Junior Treble Maker Show Choir By popular demand! Young children may also experience an ensemble group to begin their experiences with intonation and blending in a group all while singing fun, upbeat selections with simple choreography. Basic music skills are introduced in this course.
Required Materials: Sight reading literature, choir music package with CD and T-shirt. String ensembles include violins, violas, cellos and string bass. Students come together to make music with other students of the same level. Students will learn to follow a conductor and play together as an ensemble. Performance, sight reading, intonation, theory and interpersonal skills will be focused on, all while studying a variety of musical styles and genres from all over the world.
Required Materials: Flash cards, ensemble music package. Students will become proficient in solo playing, chord accompaniment and chord melody style. Solid musicianship skills are developed by exposure to the many styles in today’s musical world. Students with a basic background in guitar will gain a basic knowledge of the fundamentals of chords and scales. Universal musical terms and basic music theory will be incorporated through simple melodies and common chord progressions. Student is responsible for providing own guitar and equipment.
Required Materials: The FJH Young Beginner Guitar Method by Groeber, Hoge, Welch & Sanchez Designed to introduce drumming and percussion techniques to varied ages and ability levels. Rhythmic instruments help to establish listening within a group, strengthen time awareness and encourage consistency. Musicianship skills are developed by exposing and participating in group drumming styles of Brazil, West Africa, and the Caribbean.
Required Materials: Must provide own rhythmic instruments. An affordable way to gain piano skills while in a group setting. Theory, ear training, sight reading technique, transposition, and computer software is taught in a multi-keyboard setting. Promotes learning in a supportive, non-competitive environment.
